ABOUT

Matthew De Maid

Partner, father, business owner and a name that pops up often in the Toowoomba real estate market. Born in Brisbane - relocating to Clifton at seven years of age and subsequently moving to Toowoomba - Matthew has always considered the ‘Garden City’ his home.

A driven yet humble family man, with great compassion for those around him (and questionable taste in music). His success in the local market is a reflection of his broad, in depth knowledge and genuine desire to help those he comes into contact with.

Developing Ecology Property in September 2018; he and partner Rhiannon set themselves on a journey to develop a genuine, non-corporate feeling agency - something that resonated with their own values and desire for authenticity in their day to day lives.

Matt's considerate, professional approach on all levels and his unique, refreshing way of articulating his ideas has renewed the perspective of many. He has an ability to see through the 'fog' of our industry and formulate ways of achieving the most desired results of those clients who entrust their properties with us. He has found a way to do property, positively.

Q&A

  • You could live anywhere... Why Toowoomba?

I really like that you can be as busy, or as relaxed as you want to be. There's more than ample opportunity for all parts of your life if you want it; but if that's not your pace and you want to chill out...you can do that too.

I like that you can live a balanced life & the people in the city reward people that do the right thing for extended periods of time...that "everyone, knows everyone, in Toowoomba" thing that people reference; is a great thing for people doing the right thing.

  • Ideal weekend?

I'd consider most of my weekends to be pretty ideal; but if I were to define it - it'd include some outside time in the morning and a strong but smooth coffee, quality time with my two young sons & fiance; some open for inspections on a Saturday (not so many that we can't enjoy the conversations at each one), a mountain bike ride with some close friends and some quiet time at home in the garden while grazing on quality food.

I've been shaping the life I live now, for many years; My 'normal' is what makes me happiest.

  • What does ‘Property, Positively’ mean to you?

When we created the brand: we wanted it to feel light and easy to deal with. We really strive to do everything in a manner that relieves pressure & adds trust - leaving our clients with positive memories; rather than recollections of stress & pressure which are often associated with our industry.

Positive experiences, positive mindsets & positive results - is the motivation behind everything we do, every day.
